FLOWCHART FOR A PROGRAM TO DO BILLING FOR COMPUTER FACILITIES USAGE
Here is the control logic for a program that determines billing for the use of a computer system and related devices in various combination. The control logic uses a complex nested case structure to implement the required decision making to determine the bill calculation. Note that the control logic is relatively large and so takes up a large display area of the document view. Hence, the screen-shot bitmap is split into 2. The version of LogicCoder used to create this flowchart also uses a concise input and output symbols in the flowchart.

Here is a flowchart generated by LogicExtractor from ANSI C++ source code. The flowchart is then ported as an Ms Excel document from the LogicCoder document file and is available at this link.


Here is another flowchart created by LogicExtrator. It shows the control logic used by a C++ program to do validation check on a string characters to ensure that all character values are numeric. Hence, it does validation on a numeric entry represented in a string array. Note that I had to break the screen image in two pieces to display it here!

 

 

 

Here is part of the control logic solution for an application developed by a student at Nottingham University here in England. The application looks at the text content of an academic paper and then uses an embedded stochastic algorithm to decide what the main subject of the article is. The application creates an HTML document that display a summary of the main subjects in the article, including the topic of the article. There are other processing loops in the application apart from the two main loops illustrated here.

LogicCoder has an embedded application that lets you convert its flowchart documents to Ms Excel or Word document easily. The Application lets you choose to display either the source language text view or the algorithmic text view in the Ms application document. However, you will not be able to do the reverse operation with the Ms application. Notice that LogicCoder uses more explicit but variant flowchart symbols to that used in the ISO set or that used by Ms applications. For example, an explicit output or input symbol is used instead of the ISO Input/Output symbol in some case.
